- What file formats does Echosaw support?
- Echosaw accepts most common video formats (MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM), audio formats (MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, AAC), image formats (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, HEIC), and study documents (PDF, PPTX, TXT, Markdown). If a format is not supported you will see a clear error at upload time.
- Is there a duration or file-size limit?
- Individual files can be up to 5 GB, and documents up to 25 MB. Video and audio can be up to as many minutes as your subscription tier allows. Longer recordings can be split into segments before uploading.
- How does usage-based billing work?
- Your subscription covers the platform: your library and storage, search, Emma, the study and teaching personas, MCP and API access. Everything you have already analyzed stays searchable and usable — grading cards, generating study items, quizzes, tests, and questions to Emma are not metered. Media analysis is the only metered charge, billed per minute of video or audio at your plan's rate. On Starter, a 5-minute video costs 5 × $0.58 = $2.90; the same file as audio-only is 5 × $0.37 = $1.85. The analysis-complete email shows the minutes, rate, and amount for that file; the Billing tab in your Account lists every analysis in the current period with its cost; and the total appears as its own line item on your next monthly invoice alongside the subscription. Documents have no running time, so they count against your plan's monthly document allowance instead. No tokens, no credits, no per-seat fees.
- How is my media stored?
- All uploads are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Files are stored in isolated, access-controlled S3 buckets tied to your account.
- Does Echosaw use my data to train AI models?
- No. Your media and analysis results are never used to train or fine-tune any AI models unless you explicitly opt in.
- Can I connect Echosaw to an AI assistant?
- Yes. The Echosaw remote MCP server at https://mcp.echosaw.com lets AI assistants and developer tools use Echosaw’s media intelligence directly. It uses Streamable HTTP transport with OAuth 2.0 authentication — no local installation or API keys required — and works with clients such as Claude Desktop and Cursor.
